List of All The Daily Deal Aggregator Websites
Was LoveOneDaySales.co.nz the first list of New Zealand's Daily Deal Websites?
No.
Is LoveOneDaySales.co.nz the only list of New Zealands Daily Deal Websites?
No.
In fact, the number of websites offering Daily Deals, is growing at the same rate as the number of websites providing a list of all the Daily Deal websites - at least 1 a month!
Is LoveOneDaySales.co.nz the best list of New Zealands Daily Deal Websites?
Yes, of course!
But I need your help to keep it that way.
First, help me write a list of all of these "aggregators".
List of Aggregator Websites that List The Daily Deal Websites
- www.TheSniff.co.nz
- Deals.Priceme.co.nz
- www.TheLot.co.nz
- NZ.DealSucker.co.nz
- www.LoveOneDaySales.co.nz
1. TheSniff.co.nz
- TheSniff is run by Tim James from Wellington who also works for TradeMe as a Senior Interaction/Graphic Designer (he was involved in all the graphics you see on TradeMe, Findsomeone and TravelBug - as it says in his online CV). Tim also does some freelance work on the side for clients and works on his own projects such as TheSniff and the very cool www.BookGoblin.co.nz for selling second hand textbooks
- TheSniff has a very clean and simple interface, and although his code has a few bugs (reporting some prices as $1 or $0. I'm sure he'll fix these bugs shortly)
2. OneDaySaleFinder.co.nz
- Run by Aaron Morrell from Albany, Auckland
- The details collected include: Small photo, current price & stock level (where available).
- Aaron has recently updated the site to include more Daily Deal websites (about 20). His old text based list is still available for people who prefer that
- Links to the Facebook and Twitter accounts of each Daily Deal website is also provided
- One particularly clever feature is enabling visitors to reorder the list of daily deal websites with a click-drag with their mouse. Clever, but perhaps seldom used?
3. DealShrimp.co.nz
- Run by Ben and Gregory Shaw (brothers perhaps?) under the company Beneboy IT Limited which is a small IT and software development company based in the North Shore (there is very little info on their website: www.Beneboy.co.nz)
- These clever guys even generate photos (and resize them to fit) for all the of the deals they fetch. Very cool
4. GrabAllOneDayDeal.co.nz
- Run by husband and wife team Kusuma and Haneesha Nimmagadda under the company name NetNeeds Limited, based in Manukau, Auckland
- A very simple, text based list of some of the deals for the day. But there are many deals missing.
- I wonder why the url is missing the "s" on the end? Shouldn't it be deals?
5. Deals.Priceme.co.nz
- Displays 17 Daily Deal Websites and pulls an impressive level of detail: price, discount, photos and even current stock level!
- Run by the techno wizards Frank Mair, Henrik Johansson and Chris Palmer who have been running the giant aggregator website PriceMe since 2007 which feeds in products from over 200 NZ e-commerce shops
6. TheLot.co.nz
- Owned by Ian Simpson from Dunedin who used to operate a small IT company called ProSouth Solutions
- TheLot.co.nz lists 9 out of the 30 websites
- Photos, special prices, old prices, and discount percentages are all displayed
- An RSS feed is provided with every deals from those 9 websites, and each deal is pumped out through his Twitter account too
- Visitors also have the ability to customise the list just for them (by setting a cookie). You can move your favourite daily deal website to the top of the list or hide one from view
7. SneakAPeek.co.nz
- Owned by Chelsea Winter from Auckland
- The graphics are very smooth, and feature a cute cartoon monkey
- The site has a few bugs such as the footer navigation not working
- A very nice 3 Column layout with ALL the Daily Deal website including logos, and links to all their Twitter and Facebook pages, and links to a profile page & discussion page for each Daily Deal website (although very few are populated)
- Provides a small iframe as a window direct to each Daily Deal website, showing just one at a time - much tidier than my own Take a Peek webpage but I think users would still find it laborious to click 29 times to see all the websites
8. Goog.co.nz
- Owned by "JDC" from Wellington
- Simply a iframe window to just 9 of the Daily Deal websites
- Heavily dominated with advertising in the header and right column
- That's it. No other content at all
- And what's with the brand name "Goog"? Trying to leverage off Google?
- (Thanks to Paula for spotting this one)
9. DailySteal.co.nz
- Owned by Bradley Priest from Auckland
- Nice clean layout
- The deals of just the 11 most popular Daily Deal websites are fetched
- Collects all the relevant details: nice big product photo, regular price, special price, expiry time and stock level
10. NZ.DealSucker.com
- That sure is one terrible brand name... It leaves a nasty taste in my mouth
- This is an American based website with a New Zealand subdomain
- The deals of just 9 Daily Deal websites are fetched
- Collects basic details: small product photo, regular price and special price (it also has "popularity" which might be stock level but it doesn't seem to be very accurate)
11. LoveOneDaySales.co.nz
- LoveOneDaySales is run by me, Sheldon Nesdale. I live in Tauranga, I'm a marketing consultant. Find out more about me
- I'm always looking for a way to improve this website for you, my audience, so let me know what you like, what you don't like, anytime.
Why am I listing my competitors?
Because to make the LoveOneDaySales.co.nz website better, I can learn from these talented individuals and copy their best ideas.
