Would You Like To Take A Peek At All The Daily Deal Websites ALL On 1 Webpage?

by Sheldon Nesdale on 16 March 2010

Well I have good news for you.

All the daily deal websites all on 1 webpage (or use the link in the main navigation "All Todays Deals")

This is a very very rough prototype, so don't expect too much.

And it certainly works better if you have a huge monitor, but give it a go.

What do you think? What improvements do you suggest?

LOVE IT!! All the deals in one place. I can ditch the individual sites from my bookmarks and just check this site. Awesome.

This is Awsome!!! You should make the webpage thingy permanent

Thanks for your input Matti!

I love it!!!
I usually only look at the main list (before the separated wine and T-shirt sites). But your single page meant I looked at all the others I don’t usually take the time to click open. And I could be missing out on something I really want or need! lol If you come across any good sealing containers, let me know. :P

Sheldon Nesdale March 19, 2010 at 6:37 pm

Sealing containers? You don’t need daily deal websites for that, just go to Briscoes! haha

Reply

Miz March 19, 2010 at 6:16 pm

I love it too – so much better than clicking back and forwards!

Reply

Sheldon Nesdale March 19, 2010 at 6:38 pm

Good to hear Miz, spread the word, it’s not getting used very much yet.

stefaansie March 20, 2010 at 11:42 am

Good idea. Love it. Much easier to have everything on one page.

Don’t even see it as a rough design, seems to work pretty much perfect. The only thing is that you have to scroll a bit on some of them but I think that is impossible to avoid
Definitely a keeper though.

Can you add off the back to the sneak peak page – its one I usually check by scrolling down the main page :0)

Done! Thanks Miz

This is a great idea – well done – makes my day a lot easier ;)

Cherise April 6, 2010 at 6:21 pm

Wow! Awesome idea and yes, it makes viewing each site so much easier!

Just a minor niggle…’peak’ should be spelt ‘peek’ as they have two different meanings. *Awaits a spellcheck for each of my posts* :P

Well done though and absolutely love it!!!

Sheldon Nesdale April 7, 2010 at 6:11 am

Very true, thanks Cherise. Corrected!

Tania April 27, 2010 at 4:36 pm

I’d prefer it if you could display the actual items like they do on DealShrimp.co.nz, it’s annoying having to click in and out of things, it would be nicer just to be able to scroll down and then click through on only the items of interest.

Thanks

Sheldon Nesdale April 27, 2010 at 6:19 pm

Good point, thanks Tania!

Sylvia August 28, 2010 at 6:42 pm

I think you should be able to have to option to hide/not load certain sites, so being able to personalise the list.

Good idea Sylvia. Thanks!

A wonderfull idea, i am impressed. Due to the size of the page and diffrent promo pages of diffrent websites, it would be GOOD IF THE PAGE BREAK DOWN IN TOW TWO PAGES. so user can open the page in less time and it will look more efficient. thanks

Sheldon Nesdale September 11, 2010 at 9:31 am

Great idea ZZZ, I will look into that! Thanks!

Great new set up. It would be even better if you had boxes for ‘favourites’ you could tick on the list of suppliers. If you could select all the deals you want to see without being limited to the options of top 5 etc it would be awesome. I have a mixture accross all of the categories I like to check out but am getting frustrated now you guys are getting so big, waiting for the down load. I the options you have dont cover the selected stores I would like as favourites to download each time. thanks for an awesome way to check it all out!

Sheldon Nesdale September 24, 2010 at 3:39 pm

Those a great ideas Ingrid, thank you.

Are you saying that you’d like your own login where you can choose your own list of favourite Daily Deal sites for the Take-a-Peek page?

Cool!

How much would you be willing to pay per month for a feature like that, or would you only be interested if it was free?

Reply

Kathy October 15, 2010 at 1:13 pm

Hi Sheldon

Just letting you know, that looks like the offtheback website is now listing their daily deals on their homepage, instead of a separate page. So not sure if this will make a difference, i.e. would get this site to be previewable from your Take A Peek page. But anyway just an FYI.

Cheers
Kathy

It worked!! Thanks very much Kathy!

Kathy October 20, 2010 at 10:15 am

Thats awesome Sheldon.

Another thing. Today when I tried to open this Take A Peek page showing all sites it gives me:
“Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer!
The website at http://www.loveonedaysales.co.nz contains elements from the site http://www.bigfishtackle.com, which appears to host malware – software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that contains malware can infect your computer.

Just wondering if you probably could either remove this site or listed but not display the content (?) or something like that?

Cheers
Kathy

eeek! Thanks for the heads up Kathy. I have removed the “window” to 1DayFishingSale.co.nz and that seems to have dealt with the warning. Has the warning gone for you too?

Reply

Kathy October 20, 2010 at 1:04 pm

Wow!!!! Aren’t you quick. Yes the warning has gone for me too. Thank you Sheldon.

HATE the sex website you’ve added – ick.

Wish i could customise which sites i do/dont want to see – so many tshirt and wine ones i’d not want to have.

Reply

Sheldon Nesdale November 3, 2010 at 6:52 pm

Thanks for your feedback Ali. I have now hidden the adult toys website, sorry about that.

That’s a cool feature idea. If I offered a membership that had that feature, how much per month would you be willing to pay for it?

Reply

Marie November 8, 2010 at 10:55 am

Love this feature !

Since each sale site has different times their new deals go live, can you include a time option? “10am deal sites”, “12noon deal sites”.

Also, I never use the “all” deals because the adult site is NWFW

Reply

Sheldon Nesdale November 8, 2010 at 2:23 pm

Thanks Marie, I am looking into how to do that.

Also, I made the adult site Work-Friendly a few days ago – there are no images now, it just says “Sorry, this website contains R18 content so this feature has been disabled”

Reply

Christine November 9, 2010 at 11:09 am

Love this feature. Putting the deal update time next to the link would be brilliant.

Reply

Sheldon Nesdale November 9, 2010 at 11:24 am

Agreed. Thanks Christine!

Reply

Sheldon Nesdale November 9, 2010 at 2:07 pm

Done!

The time each day that the deals are updated is now shown beside the link. Plus, you can sort the list by that time too.

Being able to sort by city would rule!

Love the site. You could possibly also remove the disabled sites from the “all 68 sites”?

Cheers Sheldon

Hey Sheldon, I so cant believe how many sites there are on here now!! I still remember the first 12 I think!

However is there any way to cut out all the “coming soon” sites from the “All” list as i think it defeats the purpose of having a quick scan through todays deals and it also slows up the loading of the page with all the unnecessary and unusable sites. My laptop is fairly new and really stuggles loading this page and constantly comes up with errors and I often have to refresh it and start again. I’ve always used it tho to have a quick look and would hate to have to go back to the one by one way!! Thanks. Lisa.

PS: Also I think “letsgetit” should go completely, have you seen the message they have up?

Reply

Sheldon Nesdale February 4, 2011 at 12:47 pm

Thanks Lisa! Great suggestions. All done!

“Coming Soon” websites removed from the “All” list
Letsgetit.co.nz removed completely

Wow Sheldon that has made a HUGE difference!! Thanks heaps, I hope everyone else is happy with the change! (PS: You missed one, Socialbuy near the end, ;) )

Cheers Lisa.

Barry April 20, 2011 at 11:32 am

Sheldon.
To save refreshing the page at random times, how about another menu option such as
before 10am, before 11am, before 12am, etc

Cheers Barry

Reply

Toby June 17, 2011 at 1:49 pm

maybe you could remove the deal aggregator sites from this page as well to speed up loading and so we can just look at the deals?

Reply

Sheldon Nesdale June 17, 2011 at 2:06 pm

Done! I should have done that a long time ago, thanks for the prompt Toby

I recommend nobody do business with sextoyshop.co.nz. They don’t dispatch orders or respond to emails. They do take your money though however!!
